Legend says that the City of Atlantis, built by an advanced people millennia ago, sunk into the Earth sea never to be found. Many say it never existed, that the city, its people, and technology were a fairytale. Until it was discovered. 2381: the USS Miranda discovered an station floating in Sector 6927. No longer ocean bound, Atlantis became a space bound city. 42 km in diameter, it is unlike anything else. Over the past two years, Starfleet and a collection of others have collaborated in exploring the technologies and knowledge the station offers. But Atlantis is not without risks. Every turn presents challenges: booby-trapped decks, indecipherable ancient language, and technologies foreign to any modern race. The religious termoil offered by worshippers of those believed to be the station's builders further complicate the sticky politics of this unclaimed sector, and the Lost City of Atlantis, now a Federation Starbase, is as dangerous as it is exciting. |
![]() To combat the threat posed by the Triad, Starfleet C-in-C Victor Murdock has assembled a special task force by taking ships from each sector and fleet to create a line of specialized defense. One of those ships: the USS Miranda of the Atlantis Sector. Because of the circumstances of the Atlantis station and its pivotal location, many of the veteran Miranda crew were reassigned to the Station and to its primary ship, the USS Reliant. Tasked with the defense of the sector, but also the exploration of the station and the planet it orbits, the crew must adjadsfust to a new situation, a new Commanding Officer, and to new crewmates. It's already proving to not be an easy task: the crew was welcomed by a clash between religious caste and a specialized non-Federation research team, the strange and spontaneous alterations to an entire deck, and the station's "rejection" of Federation technology designed to allow safe access to another sector. Atlantis is not for the weak of heart, but at least it won't be a boring assignment. |
